Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to reveal whether teachers who are with high positive psychological capital (PPC here then) perception are in attribution complexity or not. To achieve the primary purpose of the research, an evaluation has been made by revealing the PPC practices of teachers. The research is qualitative and designed as a case study. The study group of the research consists of 11 teachers who are selected by criterion sampling method. Teachers who have a high perception of PPC were taken as a criterion. The PPC Scale, developed by Tösten and Özgan (2014), was used to identify teachers with high PPC perception. The scale used here was not considered a mixed-method study because it only played a role in forming the study group. A semi-structured interview form developed by the researcher was used as a data collection tool. Questions about self-efficacy, optimism, resilience, hope, trust, and extraversion, which are accepted as PPC components, were included in the interview form. Face-to-face interviews were conducted in the data collection. The obtained data were analyzed by a content analysis method. As a result of the research, it was revealed that the high PPC perceptions of the teachers and the answers they gave to the interview questions correspond to a large extent. Accordingly, the attributional complexity anxiety that may occur in perception studies was not seen in the PPC of teachers in Turkey.
